How we do it

The ACRRMH works at a high level to ensure “whole person, whole community” mental health and wellbeing by:

  • facilitating coordinated approaches and collaborative partnerships to develop and deliver social activities and enterprises which build individual and community resilience, skills, knowledge and livelihoods;
  • translating and advocating for community views and values to influence policy development and practice;
  • generating investment and market opportunities in rural and remote communities, both indigenous and non-indigenous, to enhance livelihoods and ensure community sustainability where ever possible;
  • facilitating and co-ordinating  research and evaluation, stakeholder relationships and networks;
  • encouraging engagement and fostering relationships with strategic business and industry partners through culturally appropriate promotion and prevention interventions.

In delivering integrated solutions and recovery mechanisms, the Centre first ensures it has the all data necessary to ensure comprehensive understanding of the factors specific to each community. The ACRRMH then works in a collaborative and innovative manner, bringing multiple stakeholders together to co-ordinate, share and develop resources and implement action plans.

The Centre also facilitates community engagement with industries and businesses, encouraging investment which increases community capacity.

In this way the Centre builds integrated prevention strategies and common solutions based on a shared vision. It builds pride, delivers tangible benefits and achieves enduring and healthier outcomes for communities and individuals.

In achieving these outcomes there are significant economic benefits in terms of cost-savings as well as social and socio-cultural benefits
